The Meigs County Common Pleas Court Judge is Linda R. Warner (picture). The Common Pleas Court has jurisdiction (legal authority) over the following matters: felony criminal cases; civil cases; domestic relations matters; and appeals from State Administrative decisions.

The Meigs County Common Pleas Court is in the beautiful county seat of Pomeroy, Ohio, along the Mighty Ohio River. Meigs County contains the Villages of Pomeroy, Middleport, Syracuse, Racine, Rutland and the townships of Bedford, Chester, Columbia, Lebanon, Letart, Olive, Orange, Rutland, Salem, Salisbury, Scipio and Sutton. The public schools in the County are Meigs Local, Eastern Local and Southern Local School Districts.

The court wants to be a problem-solving court. This means we want to be a part of the solution when there are disputes and problems.

Other offices housed in our historic courthouse include:

  • 2nd floor — recorder, auditor, treasurer, clerk of court’s title office, probate/juvenile court
  • 3rd floor – cp ct; county court (municipal) court; Clerk of courts, County Commissioners and law library

The court personnel cannot and will not give you legal advice. If you have an attorney and call the court, the court personnel cannot talk to you or answer your questions. You must direct all inquiries toward you attorney. *** look up the language in the brochure about not giving legal advice

You cannot talk directly to the judge. Explain why. Explain if you do so, in contradiction to this directive, the judge may then recuse herself and a visiting judge be assigned to the matter for which you are concerned.

Watch this site for Court News and if you have been summoned as a prospective jury to see whether you have to report for jury duty or whether the case for which you were summoned has settled or been rescheduled.
